You’re a QUEEN, but what type of queen are you?

She’s your QUEEN to be, but…
What type of queen are you getting?)
You’re a QUEEN, but what type?  It’s a subjective, let’s see why.
Who are you most like Queen Vashti or Queen Esther?

Remember the Bible book Esther and the first chapter describing Queen Vashti?

Queen Vashti is a woman I kind of equate to a ‘Real Housewives or Basketball Wives of” type of queen.  The king sent his servant to call for his wife, the queen, yet she’s too busy telling her maidservants and women she’s invited to the feast how big the stones are in her necklace and what far away land it came from.  While she’s telling about crossing many seas to find the perfect textiles for her new dress that was hand-crafted by 25 seamstresses over the past 8 months, her husband is feeling beyond a lack of honor and respect, as a husband, man, and king, when she doesn’t come.  I’m certain he felt embarrassed but moreso hurt.

Queen Esther on the other hand did ALOT of preparing, for the possibility to be chosen as queen. This included beautification treatments: spas and special oils, hair care, hygiene, hair treatments and nails done, possibly DAILY.  Yet in all of this ‘pamper time’, she was reflecting on who she was, what she deeply desired, communing with God.

Esther didn’t seek out the king’s servants or ask officials questions, such as ‘how can I get more of those diamond?’ or ‘what do I need to do to hit the jack pot and set myself up for life?’, she had a different mind frame.  Esther is preparing herself, possibly subjecting herself to things (waxing, digging deep, shedding false beliefs, doubts and fears, talking to God more intimately and feeling his grace & mercy towards her, where we wouldnt have it towards ourselves).
Esther had a different heart which is evident when she later prayed, intercessed and intervened for her people.  There’s also further evidence of her nature towards her husband when having intimate dinners with him and how she approaches him while he’s conducting business for the day.

Now, they are both beautiful womenmost likely, stunningly gorgeous.  But who wants to be with someone who’s taken it beyond arrogance and who forgets the covenant of marriage— the lack of union, only ONE, her, running the show.  And on the other spectrum, who wants a queen who forgets about her appearance, who isn’t honoring her temple for herself, nor her king, or the true King who created her in His image.

*** What type of QUEEN are you?  What type of QUEEN are you pursuing and deciding on as WIFE?  What type of QUEEN are you teaching your young daughters to become? As a queen, how are you showing LOVE, RESPECT and HONOR to your KING?***

  1. Great comparison Marisha. Yes,we women can all be Queen in our own ways but being a 'real Queen' required more from us.For me being a Queen requires me to have humility in my soul, kindness, compassion and generosity. This is how I rule the Kingdom of my Heart.

  2. Beautiful post. I love how despite our actions, we are still all Queens. None the less, I am blessed to be striving to have a spirit of Esther. I love the story of Esther...she is truly an amazing woman of God! As I am learning myself in this very important season in my life, I I know God is working on my heart, my walk, my personality and outlook for when the next season comes. Great comparison of these two Queens and how life can be completely different when it comes to how we live. Amen!

  3. Thank you ladies.

YES they both are QUEENS, both chosen 'for such a time as this', yet each had a separate purpose and plan for their own lives, individually; ONE had a plan to fulfill GOD's plan in and through herself with the POWER OF GOD as her foundation.

They are both queens, but one chose to be used by God.

May you both Brittany (UR Dream Planner) and Julie Cox (I Ordered My Future Yesterday) continue to CHOOSE to be used by God. Thank you for sharing and may God continue to bless the work of your hands with an abundance of FRUIT. In Jesus' name, AMEN. <3
